I found this forum about 2 months ago and have really enjoyed it. Man, what a wealth of information. I started playing guitar in about 1963 and only wish my prowess reflected it. 5 of us started a band so we could play Ventures' and other instrumental songs. The band only lasted a couple of years, but 3 of the people that I stay in contact with still play music. Of course, when we guitar players saw the Ventures playing those cool Mosrite guitars, we dreamed of owning one. 10-15 years ago I got my chance, and was able to get a "1965" model for a reasonable price. The guitar came with a story and a bit of documentation to back up the story. I bought the guitar, not the story, but about a year ago started trying to authenticate the story. I have had confirmation that the story is correct, but I am going to wait for definitive, proof-in-hand,authentication of that story before sharing it with you folks. Hopefully, the proof will come soon. The level of expertise I see here makes me think that I have little to add to the general knowledge about the Mosrite brand, but I will try to contribute where I can.

Howdy Jim. Welcome.

Now why do want to keep us all hanging about this story. Can you at least give a little info without divulging too much personal info? Does it involve one of the Ventures?

The story relates to a repair done to the guitar. I'd rather not say more, and maybe I shouldn't have said anything to start with, but I'll tell the whole story when the time is right. Thanks for the interest.

First ... In agreement with the others Welcoming you to the forum!

Second... I can relate directly to your wanting to be cautious and confirm "said story" in advance. My quest has taken nearly a decade and even though I have the "answers" I need... I still seem to fall a bit short. My point here is that if I had not found this Mosrite Forum/ FAMILY Image my questions would still be mostly unanswered or possibly answered incorrectly out of spite from another forum.
There's a collective wealth of knowledge, experience, honest help and a True Respect for eachother.

Welcome to the forum! Yep, I'd love to hear the story. You can always prepare a standard disclosure beforehand. Actually, with the knowledge of the folks on this forum you may actually find help here to validate or disspell the story. Food for thought!
