Hello from yet another newbie!

Hey, all...I'm Mike and I'm here to pick your brains and learn more about Mosrites. I own several other guitars, but one of my all-time dream guitars has been the Joe Maphis 6/12 doubleneck. I don't yet own one, but that's a situation that's about to be cured soon...Anyway, I'm 58, I live in Boise, Idaho and I've been playing in rock & roll bands since 1964.

I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all, and getting better acquainted with Mosrites in general. I'll probably be primarily a lurker...but I know I'll have some questions. Like This one...Where should I be looking to find Mosrite volume and tone knobs?

Thanks, I'll be around...

Welcome, Mike! So, you're about to get yourself a Maphis doublenecK? Great news - as for the knobs: some on eBay (fit the MIJ Mosrites, have to be drilled for Vintage Mos), Artie @ Front Porch Music (bakeoboy, on this forum), or possibly even Andy Moseley (also a member here). Good luck, and glad to have you join us.

Thanks, Dennis...No, not an actual Mosrite, but a build project, and a tribute to an old friend from the mid 60's who used to have a Maphis doubleneck, and who continues to be an influence and inspiration to this day. He died on Christmas eve, 1978(?) and many of us miss him badly.
Most of the parts are accounted for, but the knobs have been a bit of a problem to find.

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome. This should be fun.

A warm welcome Mike. Yeah, some of us teach and some of us learn here ...and sometimes it's the other way round

Enjoy the forum!

Welcome the forum Hardprom,

With all the porn spammers bombarding our forum, even though your IP address checked out OK, I was borderline on manually clearing your account to participate. You'd be surprised at the games spammers play to try to gain access to a forum. What a relief to find you are real person and a Mosrite enthusiast.

Thanks, Danny...Yeah, it kinda threw me when the first (and my preferred) email was rejected, but here I am, and I appreciate you taking the chance.

Thanks, Austin...the majority of the work is being done by two friends...one in Lake Stevens, Wa., the other in (of all places) Daggett, Ca. My contribution is (and has been) the concept, tracking down the appurtenances and hardware and the patterns and artwork. But yeah, I'll post a bit here and a bit there as work progresses...I may even be able to get one or both of my partners in crime to sign up here, and then they can post the photos themselves.
