Hello from the UK

Hi,
My name's Tim, from England. I've kept my eye on this forum on and off, but thought it was finally time to join!
I've been keen on electric guitars since the mid nineties and my collection currently spans 18 instruments, some vintage, some modern (reissues), inc. Gibson, Epiphone, Fender, Gretsch, Burns etc. It took me until 2005 to discover The Ventures music and I went about obtaining the entire collection of 'See for Miles' double album CDs (about 32 CDs I think) covering just about all of The Ventures album releases from the sixties/early 70s.
I then set about buying my first Ventures related guitar - a very good condition original 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in sunburst (I already had a '64 Jaguar in Lake Placid blue, but it's not quite the same thing, is it?).
My mind then turned to Mosrites. I bought an immaculate Combo (s/n HO 380 cherry red to black burst, with full Mosely trem). Unfortunately, the neck pickup doesn't seem to work - probably wiring and I've yet to get it sorted! I've also got one of the 60s parts, 70s can Fuzzrite pedals from Andy Moseley and it sounds great!
My hunt for a Mosrite Ventures model has to date, been less successful. I'm particularly interested in the 63-65 Vibramute models (who isn't!) and along with probably all the Mosrite fans of Japan, would love to have originals in the same colours as used by the Ventures (Nokie) in their first 3 Japanese tours i.e. Sunburt sidejack & pearl white/candy apple red topjacks. Although that said, I like them in any finish
I've kept a close eye on e-bay over the last few years and a number have come and gone that I wish I had bid on. They are pretty scarce in the UK - missed a '65 Candy Apple Red one in a shop in London, but it was a bit too beat up for my liking.
Anyway, that's a bit about me and my Mosrite interests.
Glad to be joining!
Tim
