Ever since I heard "Cycle-delic" by Davie Allan and the Arrows a couple decades ago, my music listening life changed.

He, of course, used a FUZZ rite with a Mosrite doublekneck.

Since then, I've collected loads of 60's garage 45's and in recent years have built many, many vintage fuzzes (mainly germanium). The FUZZ rite and it's variants are easily some of my favorites...thus, I joined this forum.

I'm a Davie Allan admirer myself. From what I understand, the Mosrites didn't get into the picture (or should I say soundtrack)until 1967. Mostly it was his trusty '65 Jazzmaster. There is a clip on U-tube of him from an episode of "The Invaders" where he is playing an Ink Blue Ventures model. As for the double neck; a member of this forum owns it now!

Years ago, I had a FUZZrite, but sadly I either sold it for peanuts or gave it away.
I recently acquired a custom-tweaked Acid Tone pedal from Chris Mahoney that has a nice Blue's Theme/Satisfaction sound. Cleaner and more sustain than the FUZZrite, but it's still cool.
He put in a small toggle switch that switches from a FuzzRite sound to a kind of Univox Super Fuzz sound.

His comments:
"I wanted to do my best to make your pedal deliver what you were looking for. I figured out a way to incorporate the 22K filter that the original had. I leave that feature off on my version and change a few resistor values. I decided to add that feature to the pedal I built for you and it sounds amazing. So now you are able to switch between the original FUZZrite and a clearer smoothed out version. The louder position on the switch is the modded version (with the 22K filter removed). "

yeah, they weren't worth that much until maybe the last 15 years or so. a friend who owns one was basically laughed at in the 80's when he was purchasing it (for $10) instead of a new pedal, at a local shop

I heard they were very cool. though, getting those 2 in one would be tough since they require completely different circuits (satisfaction is a Maestro FZ-1)

that would be even tougher than the Maestro since the Superfuzz has a wicked octave with mid scoop....and uses 6 transistors

that makes sense...the 22K makes it thinner, fuzzier and trashier. On mine, I have a 20K pot instead of the 22K so it's adjustable..
