New member, waiting on my guitar...

I'm not very good at talking about myself...
The first time I saw a Mosrite in person, it was a black Japanese copy. I was 17 and I've been smitten ever since. I have several guitars, but a Mosrite was always just a little out of reach. I live in Kentucky, and you don't see a lot of Mosrite style guitars here. I did manage to score a Univox Hi Flyer (Phase 4) a few years ago, but it's just not the same. Two weeks ago, after getting a little extra money from a side job, my wife said she thought I should break down and buy one.

So, this past Monday, after lurking around the forums and the Hallmark website for a LONG time, I pulled the trigger on a Surf Pearl model. I agonized over what color to get, but it just looked amazing in the pictures. I actually emailed Bob Shade to see how much a custom color would be, but then decided I couldn't wait any longer. I guess I might just have to buy another later...
This is actually the first time I've ever bought a guitar without playing it first, but so many members here had great things to say, it seemed like it was my destiny. Haha.
I figured I should sign up here too, instead of just lurking.
I don't play in a band, just at home, and sometimes I record. I like instrumental, surf, and older punk music. Usually not all at once though.
I'm really excited to get my new Hallmark, but I haven't heard anything yet regarding a ship date. I'm trying not to be too impatient. Easier said than done, right?
