Not a newbie

I didn't actually realize how long it had been since I dropped off the face of the earth. According to the message when I logged on, I was last here on March 30, 2012. Wow, three + years! To be honest I don't even know where I left off here.

In mid 2011 I got a new job and went through a rapid series of promotions. I guess they really liked my work. In early 2012 I was offered a position in Philadelphia as General Manager over a port processing facility (automotive). Essentially, I had 250 employees, 110 acres of parking lots, and $4.5 billion in annual inventory to manage. It all happened so fast. Movers packed everything I owned and it went into a storage unit. I drove across the country with 4 guitars, 2 amps, 4 boxes of shoes, a suitcase and my favorite pillow. I won't go into the details of the job but I knew it would either make or break my career. The jury is still out on that one. My contract ended in mid November and I decided to move back to California. I really missed it!

I've relocated to the San Diego area and a few weeks ago I was reunited with all of my "stuff". My little guitar shop was in three large crates and of course gobs of boxes. I've had a chance to do a preliminary inventory and get reacquainted with all of my goodies. That includes a few projects that were put on hold. I'm anxious to get back on these and get them completed!

I'm just now getting back in touch with a couple of the guitar forums that I used to frequent, including this one. I haven't done anything in the past three years related to Mosrite and my beloved Celebrities. My website is still up but woefully needs an update. I literally have twice as much information as is currently represented there. I just don't know when I will get to it. My first priority is to find a new job! Hopefully in the next few weeks I can pick up some of the projects I had in process and get them completed. I also have some other fun projects I'm just dying to do.

I sincerely hope everyone is well and I'm looking forward to diving back in.

Sarah

Thank you very much, guys! I hope to get back into the swing of things fairly soon. :D

Scott, I will be looking at software to revamp my website and hopefully that is a project I can complete yet this year. I have a ton of new photos and serial numbers of surviving Celebrities. I'm going to add a page on the history of the five original Celebrity prototypes (as told to me by Andy Moseley) with examples of two that have surfaced (one is mine). I'm also going to add a page for the Gospels. That is a very interesting story with many twists and turns. There are probably other things I'm not thinking of right now.

Hey Bob! I feel badly I never had a chance to visit you while I was on the East Coast. I would have loved that! FWIW, I will not let a job completely rule my life ever again, unless it's my own business doing something with music.

Hopefully some of the stuff I've discovered over the past couple of years will make for interesting discussion. Perhaps in the next couple of weeks I can dredge it up and get some threads going. ;)

Have a wonderful day!!
