I bought my first Mosrite short-scale this week from London! Shipping to Kentucky. Serial number is Z 0 84482. Trying to identify the year. I appreciate any guidance.

Hi wguyer13, Welcome to the Mosrite Forum! Looks from the S/N you got a Celebrity Bass, nice. Never seen a Z series bass with that many digits before! Hopefully someone from the forum that has one or experience with a similar one will weigh in on it... Posting some pictures would help if you have any to give more identification. If I were to take a guess, it might be from the mid to late 60's. There's one on ebay now, a Z0173 that is advertised as a '67 that may be similar to yours. Anyway good luck with that bass, hope you enjoy it!
wguyer13, She's a '72 Celebrity III which looks like the holes were never drilled for the p'guard. But if there's anyone you should be speaking to, it would be the Queen of Celebrities.
Whoa!! Where did Sarah go?? And where did her Website go??

Dennis, I don't know where Sarah is, but her Mosrite Celebrity website is still up, http://www.mosritecelebrity.com/ Lots of info on the Celebrity Models! (I just used the URL button in Post a reply)
wguyer13, How is that bass? Is it for your collection, or are you playing it? Do you care to divulge where you got it or what it cost? Hope this doesn't seem too nosey!

I bought it to play. $1250. And although I love the sound and size, I have admittedly not been able to get the intonation on the bottom two strings, corrected to my liking. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time until now to start researching.
Does anyone know if there are specific strings needed for a 24.5"?
