Hi all,
I'm very happy to let you know that on December 25th, thanks to my amazing wife, I became the owner of a Hallmark Johnny Ramone guitar and I could not be happier with it! I'm not a working musician, just a guy that likes to make noise for his own amusement. I probably won't have very much to contribute to the discussions, but I am very glad to be here to learn.
This guitar is absolutely amazing in every respect. I totally expected that the guitar would be great at making early Ramones sounds, but I've been very pleasantly surprised at how many other great tones this guitar does exceptionally well. It actually makes me want to become a better, more versatile player to more fully explore the guitar's capabilities. Now all I need to do is figure out how to get more than 24 hours in a day and more than 7 days in a week ... let me know if anyone has figured this out yet!
Wanting a little more information about the history of this model, I emailed Bob Shade on Christmas day with a few questions. To my extreme pleasure, he wrote back the following morning with a detailed response. Based on everything I've read from him and about him on this forum, his prompt customer service should not have surprised me a bit. It's so nice when a fantastic product is made by fantastic people!
