Mosrite Serial Numbers?

Scotstandard is sharing his latest find (Blue Mosrite) in which he said that the S/N on the
Fretboard was #4001 and the back of the Neck is stamped #0002......
But the Body is stamped with Nov. 17, 1965, and the S/N is #0038.
What I woul like to know is, is anyone familiar with the Company starting over in S/Ns,
because I have never heard of that...

BTW, just for the record, the reason I am REALLY confused,
is my '63's S/N is....you guessed it

I dont think the 0002 and 0038 are the serial #, would it just be the # of bodys and necks made or something? maybe its the 38th blue one made at that time.
I regret not the things i have done, but the gear i did not buy.

Hey Scot,

You're right, Those numbers stamped in the neck pocket and on the the back of the neck or
the"run" or "batch" number, they used those same numbers over and over.
