The Bose L1 system is absolutely wonderful as a PA to run microphones through. You can also run two guitars through it and that is fine if you like a very clean sound. I play mostly hollow body electrics and just love the sound of a tube amp. I have a Fender Blues Deluxe that my Celebrity sound amazing through and I've heard it thourgh a Mesa Boogie Frontman as well. The Bose had a great bass speaker by the way and a bass guitar does sound great through it and the Bose handles it just fine. I'm speaking from the perspective of a guitar player and not a bass player so my ears probably aren't dialed in like a bass player would be. I like the portability of the Bose and quick setup and breakdown. I'm doing small gigs and it works awesome. Even if I don't take the tube amp I will still play my guitar through it as a backup amp.
Sarah,
You might want to try running your guitar thru a digital modeler like a Line6 Pod, Vox, etc. before going into the Bose. I had great results running my Epiphone Alleykat into my pedals, then a Pod 2.0, and then into the Bose. You get a more amp-like tone that way. By the way, after seeing your Celeb, now I want one too!

Byron,
thanks for the tips. I'm also looking at Boss DD3's and Zoom G2 as suggested by freinds. I hope you get your Celebrity one of these days. I absolutley love this guitar. I've been playing it all weekend and it is amazing. My bandmate has a Gretsch White Falcon, which is an amazing guitar as well, and I think my neck plays just as easy as hers, plus I didn't pay $3,000 for it. This may become my #1 guitar of choice and trust me, it is up against some tough competition!
Sarah

The Zoom G2 should work well. I never tried one, but it looks like it's got some good amp models on it. If it's like the Pod you may have to tweak 'em though. But you should get a more amp-like tone going thru that and then into the Bose.

Re: My new Mosrite
Sorry, we kinda got off topic here. You know, before I found this forum I thought there were only 2 types of Mosrites - the Venture's model and the Johnny Ramone model, and that was it. Now I know that Semie made a whole bunch of guitars. But the one that has really caught my fancy is the Celebrity, and I just wanted to get back to kalanpala's new Celeb and and say that it is indeed one sweet looking guitar, and that Sarah's description of her's makes them even more lust-worthy!

Re: My new Mosrite
Byron, I hope you get an opportunity to play a Celebrity. I love playing mine and it has quickly become my number 1 player. The tones that come from these pickups are awesome and I've gotten used to the speed neck and I think it's improving my playing. I have three Gretches, two of which are hollow bodied electrics. A 5120 Electromatic and a 6118 Annie with TV Jones pickups. I like playing the Celebrity over the 5120, which is an awesome guitar. At this point, I would say it's a toss up between the Celebrity and the Annie. I love playing both of them, but for different reasons. I like the neck better on the Celebrity and I love the tones of both the Celebrity and the Annie. Although I like the knobs on the Celebrity just because they look so cool, the knobs on the Gretches are better for their actual purpose.
