I've reached the conclusion there are no standard colors. the closest reference would be the colors most often seen: Butterscotch translucent (Joe Maphis), sunburst, cherryburst, Black, Pearl white, Candy apple Red, Ink blue.
Beyond this there are the limited run colors like the various sparkle finishes, non metallic finishes like the maroon, strawberry red, and aqua. In the 1980s more limited run colors appear like California Grape Purple, and a greenish gold sunburst, an orange/red sunburst, and that purple red sunburst like on Larry Collins doubleneck, and a metallic sky blue. these later colors can be seen on Loretta's website in the photo gallery. Lots of pics from N. Carolia there. And then there are the one offs, and anything goes.
Is there a guide to Mosrite colors?

Re: Is there a guide to Mosrite colors?
i'd love to see a guide of finishes on the V88 and M88 models. one color semie did in the 80's was a black color with a silver sparkle mixed in the paint (i dont remember the offical name for that color) but I'm finishing a strat right now that I'm trying to copy that color. I'll post pics soon.

Cheers,

Re: Is there a guide to Mosrite colors?
I think semi used a few layers on the guitars to get the correct color.
On my blue one I think the layers are
Blue
Gold
Black
and white primer
wood
The pearl white is just pearl and primer i think.

I regret not the things i have done, but the gear i did not buy.
