on Numbers. There are many Serial #'s never used. If we are talking about the years
1963-64 and include VENTURES MODEL'S only, there are the 75-80. I will go with what
Semie had told me over my lifetime. Andy has confirmed this many times. Yes Semie
made many Ventures style bodied guitars with a side jack and did not have VENTURES
on headstock. Semie built me several Ventures Models (Sunburst) in the 80's
and built them exactly as he did in 1963-64. They were Bound, Vibramute, Roller Bridge, Set Neck, VENTURES on Headstock etc. The whole thing. Yes they were made when they maybe shouldn't have. But the point I am making he may have done this for other close friends. This Guitar I unearthed is #0216. But believe me there are not 200 plus
Ventures Models made in the Set Neck, Bound configuration between 1963 & 1964 . If we accepted that you would have to say Semie or Andy have not been any where near accurate. To me that's not going to fly. I have seen and had access to records and files that maybe only a hand full of folks have ever had access to. And yes I have seen the fact from the records Andy has and what Semie told me that there were only about 25 of the 1959 Joe Maphis Model Bound, Real Vibramute, Early Bridge, End Jack Etc. I understand that most of you have never had the access to really dig in to old information from the Founders. While I was working for Andy from Feb-Dec. 2008. I was able to spend
more time listing to Andy about Mosrite History and seeing near completed and never completed instruments. I am very close to completing a original 1959 Joe Maphis Model that has been laying around for 50 years never completed and never sold of course. Yes we have all the correct hardware for it. As you may know I was able to find the original parts and complete the Original Gene Moles Guitar in late 2008, and played it on several venues before it was sold. Price. Several times what the Guitar I found market value. I am not at liberty to give a exact dollar amount. But I would bet it would amaze you. The top price paid for a single neck MOSRITE has passed 25K. 10-20 years ago collectors
would never consider what these things are going for today. NOTICE that on Gene's
guitar, it has a Rim Jack and Top Body Jack. Gene had Semie do that to run two outputs
from the Guitar. The top Jack was added.
To make a point I was aware of Serial Number problems and a system that was not a system and Blanks occurred all over the place. I have seen over my lifetime Serial
number #0003 Lowest I've seen and #0216 Highest FOR A VENTURE MODEL, the one I just found. I am sure I am going to hear from a lot of you. Ain't this Fun. That God for the FORUM
Luv ya all
Elaine
P.S. I will leave you with a picture of myself the last gig I did with the GENE MOLES
Guitar before it was sold. It's a piece of HISTORY Ladies & Gentlemen.
I hope I spelled correctly I have eyesight impairment.
