Serial number prefix de-coding?...

Postby TeeJ » Thu Mar 31, 2011 4:31 pm

I have narrowed the date of issue on my Mosrite re-issue to February/March/April(+-) of 1989.
The neck-tongue info places it at Jonas Ridge. I am still trying to de-code the 1st 3 characters of the sn.
The sn reads "HV0 3 207". It is understood that Semie prefixed the SM models with his initials, so they mean something...the V may have something to do with Mk V?? I just do not know. I know the world won't be different if I don't find this out but it would be nice to know..The signature on the tongue is either a Stylized TR or JR and the signature 'scribbles' for a few more scribs.....
Any help much appreciated,
Tom

I just noticed in a Celeb post that the "V" generally is for 'Ventures'....Now, I f I can figure the "H" .......It is possible that it is for the year i.e. "HV0" = '88 Ventures Re-Issue'
