Mark ll vs Mark V

Was the 66 Mark V a student model of the Ventures guitars by Mosrite? Why did Simie change pickups to parellel vs slant Mark ll ? This really hurt high playing on the neck.

this has been decussed many times on here. semie changed the design simpley because he didn't like it. andy came up with the design of the slab body version. the redesign of the neck joint was to tap into the student model market like gibson and fender had also done. personally i just wished semie made the mark v with the neck joint in the normal spot as well for adult players too.
