Please help me identify this Mosrite

Postby mikeynyhc » Thu Jan 09, 2014 2:41 pm

Hey, I am trying to figure out anything about this guitar, I hope you guys can give me some insight on it, it's model/year and value. it is in very good shape, and I know it is old for fact at least early 70's or 60's. Please let me know if you guys know anything. I know nothing about Mosrite guitars and I hope I am in the right place to get some information from the experienced on these. there are pics below, inside the guitar in the picture it says style: Combo, and Serial: Hoo24 or H0024 Hope all is well!

You've pretty much deciphered it, it's a Mosrite Combo from the mid to late '60s. The date is usually stamped/written on the neck mounting area, it must be removed to be visible. The current resale ranges from about $1000 to $2500 depending on condition and how realistic the seller's expectations are.

not sure if that case is original. my combo case has red plush (same as this one) but is wider has softer areas that are the same shape as the combos body curves. and my compartment is longer length wise and is on the opposite side. my handle is totally different too.

you can also date the Pots (Search for a Pot Dater online and there's a chart with serial numbers) and get an idea of the actual year if it's not written in the neck socket. also i think they started putting ®'s on the logos on the pickups in 1966...
