New guitars!!

Postby StevieSTL » Sun May 10, 2015 1:36 pm

-- Happy to say that I scored both of these in the last month, sorry I don't have more pics. Diamond red V88 and turquoise '87 Ventures Nokie with cool dogwood cardinal decal under the lacquer. Thanks to tennessejoe for the V88 and for introducing me to Dan, the previous owner of the Cardinal Nokie. I just love both of these guitars...

The gangster looks so frightening, with his luger in his hand
When he gets home to his children, he's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious, he's been an outlaw all his life

Super sweet!

I believe the blue guitar was made for Semie's grandson, or perhaps that was a different one with a light house. Does it say something on the rear of the headstock to that effect? At any rate, great score!

Super neat-o StevieSTL...I like that partial German Carve on the Cardinal geetar. Obviously you make too much money judging on the amount of guitars you're purchasing. I'll have to notify the IRS!

--Bob, not sure who the blue one was made for, the paperwork from fretted Americana says that the back of the headstock says 'Mosrite for eve', when really it says 'Mosrite forever".

-- Scott, thanks! I think they are neat-o as well. The wife and I have no little ones so at this point my guitar madness is condoned and even sometimes encouraged by her. She is a drummer so that helps. Plus I look at my nicer Mosrites as a sound investment, pun intended. But seriously, both Joe and Dan gave me great prices. And that's another thing that I cherish about the Mosrite community, that appreciation and passion for the brand is worth something to a seller. And yeah if you call Uncle Sam tell him to send next year's tax refund now, cuz I sure could use it!
--Seriously though, I'm blessed to be able to have these in my collection. If I ever decide to let any guitars go, the forum will be the first place I offer for sale.

That blue one does look like the one Semie played in Japan in 1991. I wonder if it's the same one?

Yeah, I've had nothing but good things happen through the forum, bought a couple of nice Mosrites, and an amp if I can ever drive down south to pick it up! Put a few Ricks up for sale through a local shop for extra cash, but ended up buying another Mosrite with some of the proceedings...and have my eye on a Standell on consignment in the same shop.
My wife plays piano, but alas, doesn't share the same musical genre as I do. Still, she puts up with my G.A.S. and I don't say anything about her collection of purses and shoes. I just pray she doesn't find a Michael Kors Forum!
