Is this Mosrite worth the asking price?

I am looking to buy a companion for my '65 White Ventures Mark 1.Have a chance to buy a 1972 Ventures Mark 1. Guy is asking $3500. I will be looking at it tomorrow. It appears to be in excellent condition from the pics he sent. 100% original, including gator case & sunburst. But because it is a '72, it doesn't say "The Ventures" on the headstock. Is it worth what he is asking? He says his price is firm.
