So, I just got the call today that the mosrite is out of the basement! My friend played the strings, to let me hear what it sounded like, must be ancient strings. Anyway, he should be sending me some pics tonight, and hopefully I will be able to pick it up soon (he's about a two hour drive from me, have to find the time) but I will post more as I know it!

So I will be picking it up on Sunday it seems, and I will INSTANTLY have to modify it. I'm left-handed and the guitar is not, so I'm wondering how hard it will be to flip the metal nut? Is it glued on, and what should I use to glue it back on if it is? And also, should I just post this in the how to forum?

Thanks,
Joe

Turning the nut around should be no big deal. If it has the half round it will look like it was made that way. The 1/4 round will show a bit but will still work. It shouldn't be on to hard to remove and a small tap with a block up against it and a light hammer should do the trick. I glue mine on with just a drop of wood glue.

Re: Newbie, with some Celebrity questions (with pictures

So here are the pictures! I again have some questions, and I apologize for the bulk of them, but I just want to make sure I get everything right! I'm certainly going to need to polish it up! I read the Rickenbacker suggests pure carnuba wax? Anyone agree with this? Also, the case is pretty dirty, and has a stain inside, what is the best way to get the outside clean, as well as remove the stain, or any odor's that may be inside? I've added a link to the album with the photos!

Thanks,
Joe

Congrats on the acquisition, it looks good. I use a foam pad on a hand drill and Meguier's ( automotive) polishes for my guitars. Probably lots of opinions on this one ...

So, I finally got it, and what a beauty! It cleaned up quite nicely. So, two final questions, how do I remove the pickup covers? I need to adjust the pole pieces because It's flipped left-handed. And, it sounds great, but the volume dies out sometimes when I hit the volume knob on toggle switch. I'm going to bring it to a music store in a couple of days to have the electronics cleaned, would you guys think that that would be it? Oh and it's a model 3 serial number KOO 27

Thanks guys!

Joe
