Notice the substantially larger marker dots on the fingerboard and the 'alternative' mounting of the bridge cover (incorrect really). Could this be a Semie made/supervised model or copy perhaps, I wonder...

You're right, the word "copy" could be confusing in some instances, since the word can be used to describe different things, e.g. at the office we received "copies" of various newspapers on a daily basis, meaning the real papers and not fakes.
A Mosrite copy: meaning a clone like the Japanese Fillmore, Kurokumo, Excellent and so on -quality instruments that they be but "copies" nonetheless). A "fake" Mosrite of course is something else; trying to pass as the real thing...
