Some Of The Last Semie Made Mosrites...

This is one of the most asked question's I still get to this day. From the time I moved to Tennessee and visited Semie at Jonas Ridge, many times, (5 1/2hr trip.) and the many conversations between Semie and myself. The last Semie made Venture Models in the 1963 Model (Set Necks) were certainly made into the early 90's. I know he made me a couple.
However the 64's bolt on necks were made also. Some of the last people who saw what was made in Akansas would include Jerry or Gene whom I had conversations with after Semie passed on. I received guitars from there that Semie had completed for me, one which
Loretta pass to Rose Lee Maphis and then I picked it up from her. Serial #'ed SMP001.(Semie Moseley Prototype). It had Semie Moseley Model on Head Stock positioned about where the Venture Model Silkscreen would appear. Semie was also working on a JM-65 with Binding which I obtained later on. The last Mostite or Mosrite's Semie worked on. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole and put it in writing. It had to be in Akansas. I will locate photo's of this guitar SMP001 and post.

That's very interesting about the serial number prefix, "SMP". In doing my Celebrity research I've run across "SPM", "SPK", and "ST". The first two are Celebrity-III's and the last one is a Celebrity-II. Any thoughts on these prefixes?
