I've just noticed that a place here in Australia www.guitaremporium.com.au has a 1965 Sunburst Ventures model listed in their New Arrivals section. It's priced at $5995 which at the moment is around $4700 US or so.
They haven't posted any pics as yet but I can't wait to to see it when they do.

It gets better all the time. I went into my favourite store in Sydney today ( Global Vintage ) and found three Excellent 65's— a red, pearl white and a sunburst.
Then I went a few doors up the street to another place and found a US natural finish Combo for somewhere around $4—5 thousand.
I've never had it so good!

I saw at a guitar & amp show in brisbane on may 31 an original joe maphis/combo late 60's in natural wood... it looked beautiful! i couldn't play it cause i had to get through3 guards & a sea of RARE vintage martins, gretches and a swag of teles... but i stared till my girlfriend saw the prince hohner guitar and dragged me away to take a pic of her playing it... hahaha
The combo has a bigger body than expected and looked better than pics i have seen.

we played some awesome cole clark accoustics that day.
