I've seen some stuff written here & there about someone in Canada that, apparently, secured some Mosrite parts & either sold them, put together some franken-rites or something. I'm still only about 6 or 7 months out from buying my first Mosrite & have no idea what you all are talking about. Would it be possible to get some history on this guy, some advice on what to look for, some examples of his work, etc.

I just wanna know the scope so I am an informed Mosrite buyer, player, & enjoyer.

His name is Curtis Muldoon and he has been selling Mosrites in various states of assembly on eBay for several years now. An acquaintance of his was a radio personality in Canada and one of Semie's investors in the later years. As seems to be the case with just about everyone Mosrite owed money too, he never got his investment back and instead was paid off in a truckload of factory seconds.

I had no problems dealing with Curtis. I spent several hours on the phone with him as I built mine and sorted out some things I had questions with. I did have to replace a pickup and also sent one to E.F.Elliot to do some work on but Curtis always made it right. Not sure what he has left but as long as you check everything you get from him over well I think there are still guitars to made from his stash.

PS: There are a few others here that have also built guitar's using his parts.

Check out the projects section for MWaldorf and GattonFan projects, in addition to SleeperNY's. All these guitars were from parts obtained from Curtis - overall, a good experience for me. Eddy Elliott reworked the p'ups, and I had the parts plated - but lots of fun.

Dennis, who did you take it to for the plating?

A local company that does all kinds of plating (silver, nickel, etc) - I was surprised, as I got everything done for about $50. I figured it would be really expensive.
