Adam stopped by yesterday after having just pickup this '63 Ventures model, so I snapped a few pics of it to put up here on the forum. This is one clean guitar and is a one owner score.
Thanks so much, Danny. I just got back from Deke's house where he gave the new '63/'64 a spin and took some pictures too. Mel had his chance to shoot some pics and kick some tires as well. Hopefully they'll both add their photos to this thread.
Gah, this guitar is gorgeous. The feel is slightly different than my '66, I think the '66 has a bit more shoulder in the neck profile. The body shape is more natural, with smoother, more hand tooled carves than the '66. The sound was a bit thinner, but I think that has more to do with pickup height than anything. An incredibly drool inducing guitar. Here are some pictures:

Very cool, Adam. We don't often get to see the transitional builds: binding & sunburst headstock with big logo/bolt on neck & front jack. Good photos too, guys.

It came from a fellow in Folsom CA (yes, like the Johnny Cash song) who bought it new in 1965 or '66. Yep, that means this little baby hung on a guitar shop wall for a couple years. It even still has the key for the case and the lighter gauge trem spring!
