Mosrite 300: Rare Yes, Market value No

As the owner of a (1973) Mosrite 300 #0005, I watched the ebay listing of Mosrite 300 #0006 with great interest. Well, it went for only $709.00; so a clear market value judgement, just because it is exceedingly rare as a Mosite model, the market clearly speaks, it is not exceedingly valuable (or valuable at all) in terms of dollar value.
So, whoever bought it, join the elite club of owners of very rare and (less-than-market valued) Mosrites.
I love playing my (single humbucking pickup) 300, it sounds so very different from all my other Mosrites.

As long as you're loving it that's what counts the most!

The 350 doesn't seem to go for much either. I saw one listed for $1,000 some months ago and it didn't sell.

Thanks Sarah. Your consistent thoughtfulness, insightfulness, and total "coolness" on so many threads and topics makes the Forum a really great experience.
I will play my (very rare) 1973 Mosrite 300 for many, many years to come.
If it's a vintage Mosrite guitar, then you know it's a darn great guitar!

I was watching that one also as it was a rare Mosrite that I could have afforded if it wasn't Xmas time. I was thinking that it would sound great with my Green Big Muff thru my 1988 JCM 800 1/2 stack. I think the neck pup would create a nice thick fuzz tone.

Sorry, folks, but over the months on this forum I have built up my own belief system, and if Artie of Front Porch Music, with a wall-full of every Mosrite ever conceived or built, has not seen a certain kind of Mosrite, then-- to me-- that Mosrite doesn't exist.
Your mileage may vary.

Not the most aesthetically pleasing of the Mosrite designs ... of course, as they say at about closing time, "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder."

I thought that at first, too, but the more I look at it, the more attractive it seems.
It is certainly way different than Semie's other offerings, but there is a certain panache to it.
