Joe Maphis model question

I have an opportunity to buy a Maphis single-neck model for short money... well pretty short. What I really wish I could get is a vintage Ventures model, but you know the story.
Truth is, I have at least two splendid offers of that, that I won't forget, from this forum, but I still need to save.
The thing is, somebody stepped on this Maphis about fifteen years ago, and since then the pieces (many) have sat in Mom's closet (his moms, I still haven't bought it,) and he showed it to me. The usual sixties pickups with "Mosrite of California." Two-piece Vibramute type trem-bridge.
Two-piece bookmatched neck.
I'm in love...
But it's going to take a lot of time and money to restore this, and the parts appear to fit the mold of what I really want, a Mark I style model.
Would I be well advised or not to make or buy a Mark I body for a temporary Frankenstein? Do the parts fit? I am especially concerned about the neck joint.
Now, I'm a utility man, not a historian (well, that's not right,) but I
think I have an opportunity to get what I want at short money. My real question is, are Maphis/ combo parts interchangeable with Ventures/Mark I parts?

IIRC the Maphis model is what became the Ventures MK1 model. Once you save the money you could send it to someone like E F Elliott and probably make it as good as new.

I think he's talking about the hollowbody version.

Electronics should be the same. Bridge and vibrato, though two piece, will work. The neck might work; maybe someone with a Maphis (hint hint Fritz) can supply dimensions at the neck pocket? The pickguard definitely won't work.

There's a forum member, KRamone27, who has a Ventures 12 string body in sunburst that's been looking for a home. You might contact him. If he's still got it, that could be the platform for these parts.
