First post in this wonderful forum: hello to everyone!

I was looking for a semi-hollow guitar with humbuckers to put side by side with my 2001 USA Strat. With my band, I play a strange genre across progressive rock, jazz, acid rock and alternative.
I'm thinking about purchasing a Mosrite Celebrity II from a man I know who lives in my city (in Italy) for a pretty good price (in USD, it should be around 800/850) and then equip it with a pair of humbuckers: what do you think about it? Is it a stupid thing to do?
Anyway, if you should put a pair of humbuckers on a Celebrity II... what would they be? I was thinking about some TV Jones...

Have you played the Celebrity with the stock pickups? It might sound nice for you as it is. The price you mentioned seems like a very good price for a Celebrity-II. Do you have a photo of the guitar? I can also tell by the serial number on the fretboard. The 1973-1974 Celebrities came with humbuckers.

the serial should be M00... and two other numbers that I don't remember: the seller claims it is from 1966.
the pickups are the classic single coil P90 style, surely not hums

what do you think should be the right price for such guitar?
and about the humbucker question, do you have any suggestion?

I think that is a good price for a Celebrity-II in good condition, especially in Italy. Can you share pictures of it?
