Yes, there are duelin" Mosrites in this clip, but don't be distracted by Buck's acoustic. If you can peer beyond the red, white and blue, you just may find yourself gobsmacked.

Hey Adam, I have seen this before, it is on the first Hee Haw DVD comp. It looks like the same shape as my Semie built Standel but with a hollow body and a carve around the top edge. The pickups look to be the Mosrite Dobro style with a flat piece of plastic rather than pole pieces. I just re-wound one just like it for a guy in Bakersfield recently.

The red color is the same shade as the red Axe guitar that Loyd owns. It also has a headstock design that is somewhat similar to that.

Looks like a good guitar for a 70's funk band.

Bob

That is one stylin' red guitar!!! Is that a fully custom order or is there any model precedent for it?
Either way I want one, bad! Beyond cool and sounds great too.

Surprised there haven't been more variants on the Tele thinline body, especially incorporating the German carve sculpting like this one.

There is so much going on in this vid: country guys playing 50's rock in the hippie style.
That guitar is really cool. wonder where is it now?

You mind reader, you! I was thinking the very same, Dennis ;)

You and the cameraman or the director in the control booth! I was surprised to see the camera go from the guitar solo up the "main attraction". I think that everyone was lip-syncing because you hear drums and bass and they're not part of the scene which was rather disappointing.

That's a very cool guitar! Never seen a Mosrite quite like that before--although the shape isn't unlike the Hallmark Deke Dickerson, which is a single-neck version of Semie's original Joe Maphis doubleneck. It's sure got that Mosrite sound, too--it's quite a bit fatter than the Tele twang that we're used to hearing from Don.

We cannot be sure how it sounds. The video act is typically 'played back' as Edward justy pointed out and besides, I don't see the "Bizarro Mosrite" plugged in into anything, unless it was mic'd (being a hollow body) but then I don't se a microphone either... :?

Wireless? What got me laughing was how Buck and Don managed to set their guitars on 'auto pilot' or 'cruise control' around 1:32.
They both had stopped playing while you still heard the guitars just strummin' away. Sound 'corny?' Well, look again at the show..... .
