Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the proper name or model for a 6/12 Mosrite doubleneck? Mine is sunburst, does not say "Joe Maphis" on the headstock. I know, I know, a picture is worth a thousand words!!! Just haven't gotten around to it. One o' these days....
Thx,
Scott

Re: Proper model name
The production version was called the Joe Maphis model, but there were also custom doublenecks in different configurations that weren't Maphis models. And to confuse things even further, there was an earlier Joe Maphis doubleneck produced in very small numbers around 1961-62 with the short-scale octave 6-string neck instead of the 12-string. These were actually catalogued along with the single-neck model that became the Ventures Model, but both the double- and single-neck models were originally called Joe Maphis models.
