I'm working on the Mosrite Wikipedia page and am wondering when the Joe Maphis model(s) were introduced. I know there is the six-string version, A twelve-string and there is a 30" (or close to that scale) of bass. So when were they introduced in the Mosrite line - 1966? I tried searching with the search bar and it said the terms I used ("Joe Maphis Model" and "Joe Maphis") are too common.

Might as well mention that the late 60s Joe Maphis wasn't the first Maphis. What became the Ventures/Mark 1 model was.

You should also note the Joe Maphis Model II - my best guess on these is that the bodies were made when he was prototyping for the Model I, and he decided to simplify the cutaways. Later, when he needed money he slapped necks on them and sold them. I'm not sure how mny there are, but I'd be astounded if five exist.

I think I saw 2 of them at Front Porch Music in Bakersfield.

That's a nice JM II you got there. To me the II harkens back to his more country-styled guitars.

I don't have the ability to edit Wikipedia but the section on replicas would be good to expand, especially to include Univox as the Eastwood that's mentioned is actually a copy of a Univox copy if you see what I mean.
I'm quite pro-Univox as you might have gathered!
