Welcome to the Mosrite Forum Serial Numbers List for Mosrite Celebrity III Models (which have a 1 7/8" deep body, and the smooth cover pickups.) Contributing to this List:

If you happen to own a Mosrite Celebrity III (mind, the III model - not the I or II) of any type (6 string guitar, 12 string guitar, or bass) and would like to contribute information, I'll need info (and I'd also like pictures, if possible) of these areas:
1 - Pic of the front of the guitar.
2 - Pic of the back of the guitar (to show how the neck is attached - Mosrite usually had a neck plate for these, but sometimes had 3 or 4 screws with ferrules.)
3 - Pic of the sticker seen through the F-hole (if still present.)
4 - Pic of the serial number, stamped into the end of the fretboard near the Neck Pickup (if still present.)
5 - Pic of the headstock, front and top side.
6 - Pic of the headstock, rear.
7 - (Only applies to 6 String Guitars, unless there's somehow a 12 string with this tailpiece) - A pic of the Moseley Tailpiece, where it says "Moseley." Some of the tailpieces have a Patent Number, and I'd like to tell when that starts.
These last 3 are not absolutely necessary, but would also help:
8 - Pic of the Dates on the Potentiometers (if the pots are original.) They come in either Week-Year Format (so 45-66 would be in November 1966) or it's the reverse.
9 - Pic of the Neck Heel where it meets the body (if there's a date stamped, which probably doesn't exist past October 1966.)
10 - Pic of the Neck Pocket (if there's a date, again, which may not exist past October 1966.)

Model Specifications:
===================
The Mosrite Celebrity III model is the cheapest of the Celebrity models. It is a Hollow Body Instrument with an F Hole. Its tailpiece is normally a Trapeze style, but you could also buy it with the Moseley Vibrato Tailpiece.
24.50" Scale Length (Guitar - 6 String & 12 String)
24.50" Scale Length (Bass - yes, really, the Celebrity III Bass has the same scale length as the guitar.)
Mosrite Single Coil Pickups (possibly with AWG 44 or 43 in the Guitar Pickups, and AWG 42 in the Bass Pickups.)
Body Wood:

K1018 - Red. This had a misprint that seems to be K16 something or other, maybe K1615, then the misprint was filled in and the actual number was stamped next to the fretboard end instead of between the last two frets.

ST040 - 2 Piece 3 Bolt (Ferrules) Neck Only. Neck now on what seems to be a Parts-Rite, as I documented the neck with a Red Body from an instrument that was parted out by GibsonDependable in 2022. The current instrument it's on is Sunburst, and it has non-original but close M3 California pickups with pole pieces. ST041 - 2 Piece 3 Bolt (Ferrules) Neck. Dark Cherry-ish finish with darker red paint around the edges and F Holes. Mind that confirmed numbers for the 1960s Celebrity III-XII models are a bit of a mess. It's possible that workers put the wrong stamps on some of these documented examples, or there may be another reason.
Confirmed Numbers:
P0008 - Faded Red (Orange.) - Has Ventures I type pickups. Pot Codes are "1346708," "BA811," and the last code is hard to see in the pic; my best guess is "390x" (x = unknown.)
P0048 - Sunburst, Neck Sunburst, Headstock Black. 3 Bolt Neck. Was on eBay in November 2023.
N0130 - Sunburst. Found on Guitar Center's site on April 8 2025. I'm not sure why this one has a different prefix.
W0215 - Uncertain if this even belongs in this list, yet. The body's bridge block was either not placed right, or it was too short and so the Low E side bridge post wasn't properly anchored but it was half exposed to air.

If you happen to own a Mosrite Celebrity III (mind, the III model - not the I or II) of any type (6 string guitar, 12 string guitar, or bass) and would like to contribute information, I'll need info (and I'd also like pictures, if possible) of these areas:
1 - Pic of the front of the guitar.
2 - Pic of the back of the guitar (to show how the neck is attached - Mosrite usually had a neck plate for these, but sometimes had 3 or 4 screws with ferrules.)
3 - Pic of the sticker seen through the F-hole (if still present.)
4 - Pic of the serial number, stamped into the end of the fretboard near the Neck Pickup (if still present.)
5 - Pic of the headstock, front and top side.
6 - Pic of the headstock, rear.
7 - (Only applies to 6 String Guitars, unless there's somehow a 12 string with this tailpiece) - A pic of the Moseley Tailpiece, where it says "Moseley." Some of the tailpieces have a Patent Number, and I'd like to tell when that starts.
These last 3 are not absolutely necessary, but would also help:
8 - Pic of the Dates on the Potentiometers (if the pots are original.) They come in either Week-Year Format (so 45-66 would be in November 1966) or it's the reverse.
9 - Pic of the Neck Heel where it meets the body (if there's a date stamped, which probably doesn't exist past October 1966.)
10 - Pic of the Neck Pocket (if there's a date, again, which may not exist past October 1966.)

The Mosrite Celebrity III model is the cheapest of the Celebrity models. It is a Hollow Body Instrument with an F Hole. Its tailpiece is normally a Trapeze style, but you could also buy it with the Moseley Vibrato Tailpiece.
24.50" Scale Length (Guitar - 6 String & 12 String)
24.50" Scale Length (Bass - yes, really, the Celebrity III Bass has the same scale length as the guitar.)

Mind that confirmed numbers for the 1960s Celebrity III-XII models are a bit of a mess. It's possible that workers put the wrong stamps on some of these documented examples, or there may be another reason.

N0130 - Sunburst. Found on Guitar Center's site on April 8 2025. I'm not sure why this one has a different prefix.
W0215 - Uncertain if this even belongs in this list, yet. The body's bridge block was either not placed right, or it was too short and so the Low E side bridge post wasn't properly anchored but it was half exposed to air.
