Of course, a very cool shape...but not readily associated with any ukulele shape that I know of. Who knows, it may perhaps one day be responsible for more ukulele players appearing on 'the scene' :P

Just curious Reber, would you know if Ed has a reason for the cavity at the end of the fret board -where it joins onto the body- remaining exposed...could it be temporary -perhaps awaiting a new scratch plate design? :? Also I notice that the carved out "M" on the headstock seems to be more 'pronounced' than what we're used to seeing :?

BTW, very cool photo by itself!

Thanks so much Reber! Love to see stuff like that. Keep 'em coming as you get the chance.
Paul, I think the gap at the end of the neck is borrowed from the early 'reverse Strat' Artie owns. Also, it allows for easy truss rod access. No need to remove pickups to adjust the neck. I think it fits in with Ed's concept of retro yet serviceable as a real working musician's instrument. I think it's a cool look, and especially like the RS with the german carve like Lars' Silver Surfer.
Wonder if Ed could make binding go around the body on a german carved RS to become a sort of '63 aesthetic touch.

What you say about the gap makes perfect sense, Trent; that's probably what Ed would say also. The retro feature is indeed very practical. Ed certainly is one of the few remaining working Mosrite wonders!

Hey Paul, How's things in Holland?

As you know I based the "RS" model on Semie's first "Reverse Strat" design
He built somewhere around 1962, The over sized "M" the exposed truss rod
adjustmet cavity and the space between the fingerboard and pickup are
apart of this vintage design. These early "RS" models of mine are all prototypes.
The "M" in the head stock might become an "E" . I haven't done any "RS" models
with bound bodies, I think it's a great idea.

Hey Eddy, everything is OK here in the land of the Windmills and tulips and more... but hardly any Mosrites :(
Thanks for bringing us up to date on your RS designs and prototypes. I think a carved "E" on the headstock would be a super cool move :geek:

Cool idea. I think I know another builder that has already been using the E headstock for a few years now. Ellison Custom :D

Danny,
You know what I think, I think Great minds think a like.
I guess I'll just stick to the ol' "M", not standing for Mosrite or Moseley
But for my sweet little wife, Mary.

Paul,
If I can talk Mary into making the trip to Holland, will you give
us a tour of your windmills and tulip fields?? got'a get me a pair
of wooden shoes! And you can show me some of your hot licks
on the guitar.
All the Best!

I got to thinking after I showed the photo of the head stock with
the "E" in the top, I might as well show the rest of the guitar.
I've only built 2 arched top "F" hole guitars many years ago,one for a young man in
Bakersfield that some how turned up in New York then bought by my good friend Reber
and ended up in his collection in Sitka, AK, The other one I kept in my collection,
Here's a couple of photos.
