Since this is an eBay auction, the photo's will only last until the auction is over but this thread will be here for ever. I will post the photo (this time) so that it may be referenced after the auction closes. Fortunately this photo is linkable. Usually you have to save it to your own account to post it on a forum.

$6500 is to much for those, you could almost buy 3 original Mosrites for that.

Doing the math...they are $2,165.00 apiece. That is waaaaaayyyyyy too high! I love in the description where he basically says "hey, my guitars are overpriced, but this is my hobby not how I make a living". If it is a hobby, then sell for a little over cost & don't try to screw your customers.

One could buy a real Mosrite from Front Porch for less or 2 Hallmarks for that amount. Guy has chutzpa charging that much for a clone no one has played and doesn't have a tremelo.

Seems to be a talented guy. I am not going to buy those Mosrite clones but wish him best luck.

Wow.
If this is just a hobby then he should sell them at a price that the market is more likely to bear so he can quickly get his money back and move on to other "hobby" guitar projects. Looks like these will sit in his closet and collect dust, but maybe thats the idea: "See honey? I tried selling them on eBay! Dang. Looks like we're just gonna have to keep them..."
How dare you presume to inject, using reproducible facts and rational thought, an on-topic discussion into a thread that had degenerated from sarcasm, personal invective, and hand-waving arguments?

"[Just a note. Everyone has an opinion. I respect that, but please DO NOT email me with your personal opinion about the prices of my guitars being “too high” and “more than book value”. I am not forcing anyone to buy these instruments. All of them come from my personal collection and the prices listed reflect their quality and uniqueness. I only bought the best so I am only selling the best and my reason for selling these pieces is simple-this is my hobby-not my business. Thanks.]"

Check out the sellers over priced ebay store.

NOTE: The seller is not the luthier.

The luthier sold those clones on eBay himself a few years back, and downright reasonably to boot.

The seller, on the other hand, is a piece of work. Makes one wonder if all those listing fees are worthwhile.

Another way of looking at it: for the total he's asking for an unknown and unproven instrument, I could buy 4 Mosrite '66 reissues from Artie, or 7 Hallmark 60 Customs (hey, I could have one of every color!!!). Also, notice that the Ebay seller is only selling the lot of 3 and not individually. Why do you think that is? Just my 2 cents.
Gear:
Hallmark 60 Custom Three-tone burst
Hallmark 60 Custom Candy Apple Red
Wilson Brothers VM-65 Black Sparkle
Line 6 Spider IV 120 w/shortboard
Line 6 Pocket Pod
