Got another japanese Mosrite Mark I!

Postby Chemo » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:36 am

Got this recently. It has "M" knobs and a Moseley bridge. This guitar instantly became my favorite. I like it even better than my Ranger!

Congrats, that's a great looking guitar! Is the vibrato a Moseley or an Excellent? M knobs would suggest it's a Kurokumo.

Yeah, it doesn't take much to get infected.... just to see a nice Mosrite that's available in a shop can be enough ;)

I don't know yet! There is a serial number 4777 stamped at the body end of the fretboard, and the bridge is Moseley. The knobs are "M" type - if I remember correctly, Fillmore doesn't make them? Have they ever made them? I got the guitar used so it could well be a version that is no longer in production.

It's made by Kurokumo and they are still being manufactured in Japan and sold in the USA by Kevin Zamm of zamminc. They were the last to use the Ventures logo. Plus I think they lost the recent lawsuit battle in Japan to Fillmore for the Mosrite rights. They are great guitars. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1682
...... and here. search.php?keywords=+Kurokumo&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
