Hi all,

Recently I did the electric modification to Eddy's guitar. As you can see the pix, I called this modification 'Pipeline'.

This modification eliminates troublesome noises and sends the good signal to an amplifier.

In addition above, I replaced the volume pot from carbon variable resister to professional potentiometer. As you know, a thin carbon film inside tends to provide unwilling effects to signals. In fact, the sounds after modification became so good comparison to previous wiring.

Wow, that looks really cool! I can't make out exactly what's going on - the brass tube looks like excellent shielding, but then I don't understand the purpose of the various other capacitors and resistor, plus the cylindrical piece in the last picture. Is it possible to tell us a bit more about the circuit or is it proprietary?

Haven't heard from you for a while. Sounds like a great modification you had. Can we hear the sound checks clip or video before and after modified?

One of the unavoidable problems of vintage Mosrite or Mosrite like guitars is the annoying "Buzz" or "Hum". I use "HumDebugger" to get rid some of the buzz/Hum.

The additional CR parts around the attenuator are 'Smooth Taper Volume' circuits what you can purchase at custom parts shop like ALLPARTS. I hooked up them with my discontinued rare parts.

Other parts around tone pot, they're 'Mid Range' control circuits. As you know Gibson L6-S, that has the same circuit as a default. In addition to usual capacitor, an induction coil is connected in series.

Two of them are opened resources, so you can easily find the same circuits on internet.

As I took advantage of another circuits, that is my original one that compensates the impedance of both pickups. I call the circuits 'Matching Filters'. As its name suggests, they're made up with some LCR parts. When it comes to mixing two pickups, a conventional paralleled connection makes bad results electrically. Please imagine paralleled dynamic microphone sounds good or not. Thus we haven't heard real mix sound of Mosrite guitars. Currently I can't disclose the circuits because these are still under experiments.

However, I'll show you the most simple way of compensating both pickups. Please connect one resister between each hot line of pickups and pickup selector. the value of resistors may be proper around 3k-10kohms 1/4-1/2W, that depends on the pickups you have. Please try another world.

Hi Vincent, I haven't seen you for a while. This summer I visited Hawaii with my family. I wish I could visit also North America at that time, but I had no more money to get there. I cried 'Mosrite Foever' toward North America on near top of Dimond Head...ha,ha.

I'm so sorry I didn't record any sounds before modification. Whatever well recodings be done, I think it is difficult to listen the real sound on Youtube.

I am so sorry that I missed your posting. Michele and I would have gone to Hawaii to meet with you and your family if we had known ahead of time. (Hawaii is one of our favorite places, we went there for our honeymoon 38 years ago and went back numerous times, never got tired of it..)

I haven't got on this forum for quite a few months. My wife and I have closed our business and retired in early 2012 and have been traveling allover America (we love The U.S. National Parks) and overseas (Japan too, Kyoto is my favorite) in the last few years.

Please do come to visit us with your family soon, I would love to show you the beauty of America.

Your Eddy's guitars are absolutely beautiful. I bet it sounds great too!
