Tom Wheeler's "The Soul of Tone" has a lot good information about Fender Amps; vintage or modern.

at this time I play a 76 sf-blackfaced-with Jensen c12 k speakers,and I like it a lot,sound,sound,full sound,so,looking 4 something with low wattage-low weight-but still sounding good.
looking at the price of the used amps the sf are very expensive in Italy(from 1400 euro -1700 $-to 2000 euro),
I will see.................there is a 65 custom used in town......
cheers Bruno

The sound that Nokie now gets using the twin reverb is nowhere close to the 60s sound - I have been at a few recent concerts where he used this amp.

He is also not using single coil pickups and that adds to the different sound. My guess is that he is looking for something different from the 60's

Nokie switched to the "clean" sound since '68. However, his "humbuckers" have *almost* always included a single coil tap
(Mosrite custom, Fender custom shop Nokie Tele, Hitchhiker). His solo albums and the musical stylings of his solo act demand a clean sound. I am fortunate enough to know Nokie personally and I also have his very own custom shop Nokie Edwards Tele with the single/humbucking selector, complete with a case and airline tags on the case in his name.

I'm using a Fender Quad Reverb from '77 with The Silver Hawks (surf'ish guitar instrumentals). I like it a lot.

Bruno - you have Twin Reverb from the 100 W silverface era? What's wrong with that? It's a great amp!
This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!
