Nice link, handbrake. Yeah differences seem to be the full trem, JM silk screen and for those who look really close there's no screw on the upper pickguard. I must say the full trem look is way cooler.
If it's a '66 will this kick up the price a notch?

I don't know if this helps but I really like my JM and it plays like silk. It has a jazzier sound than my other Mosrites, however, it is very heavy inspite of the hollowed out body. Great Guitar!!!

Re: Played a Joe Maphis Model 1 today
Well folks, I did it! Made the trade with two guitars and settled the deal with some extra $500 worth of goodies (effect and pedalcase) going my way. There's no doubt I have 'paid' a little more than it's probably worth but now I own a genuine Mosrite again!!
I'll post some pics later but can already tell this is a '66 model with full trem. Both pups have the logo on them but one is without the tiny r (registered). Guitar case is in very good condition. It has been refretted and have a new string guide/nut. The new frets makes it a players guitar for many years to come and the string guide is a pain in the butt
. Maybe I'll replace it with a correct one later on.
Oki, back to playing those fast licks, haha

ET, great pics of a very nice looking guitar. Perfect amount of character. You'll have to switch your knobs, though!

Re: Played a Joe Maphis Model 1 today
I've just played the JM for 3 hours during a 'living room rehearsal' with another project I'm in.. The JM stays in tune nicely even after some good vibro work. Man, I like the neck on this guitar!!
Something I don't get is why that 'last 1965 pick guard screw' where ditched from the later Mosrite models? Looks a bit amateur'ish.
