Does anyone know if it is possible to print a multi color decal on the clear decal material?

Are you referring to the water slide decal paper? If so, the answer is yes. I don't know about other stuff such as Mylar.

I was mainly refering to the mylar but if I can find waterslide paper than I'll use that. Is the waterslide decal paper sold at wal-mart or an office supply store? And do you have to seal the decal before putting sanding sealer on the finish?

I have zero experience with Mylar.

I never checked locally for decal paper availability. I purchased a few sheet off some seller on eBay a couple of years ago. You put the finish on the headstock as normal. If you are doing a vintage Fender style, then put the decal on top of your finish with nothing else over it. If you want the decal to look good and last for ever, then put the decal on the last stage after color coating, then spray a few coats of clear lacquer over the decal to seal it.

While preparing your decal. after you have copied it onto decal paper, spray a few 'mist' coats of clear lacquer over the 'raw' decal to seal the inkjet lettering and let dry before putting it into water. Other wise the decal will break apart.

Waterslide decal paper is available from The Squadron Shop, a scale modeler's hobby sorce, in Carrollton, Texas.

You will have to put a gloss varnish of some kind over the ink-side after it is printed, before immersion in water

+1 on what's been said - the only caveat is that you can't print white on clear, unless you have an Alps printer. Otherwise, you can get clear decal paper at practically any hobby shop - haven't tried Wally World.
