The most extreme thing you've done for a guitar.

Postby mosman » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:19 pm

I remember years ago when my bass player was sitting at work in a ticket booth at Sydney's main train station pining for his newly aquired flying V bass. Finally it got too much for him so he just closed the booth and went home to be with his beloved bass. As a result he was fired with the recommendation that he never again be employed by the State Rail Authority.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Wow.

Nothing so serious. Was aptient over the course of decades when something was discontinued. Worked extra to get guitar or amp fund built up, saved money really slowly, accumulated the collection even more slowly. Really nothing dramatic, ever. 'Pled guilty to being dull.

The most extreme thing I've done for a guitar: sold one, to get money for a better one. But that was more than 20 years ago.
This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!

Yeah, that's like me. I say 35, but it could be 33 or 34. I forget. One of these days I will count them.

Gee and I thought my measly nine guitars was a tad overboard.
I'd best get cracking and boost that number I reckon.

Race like a madman through a blizzard to be the 1st person at a guys house to buy a Lp Custom for a $175. I was the 2nd person to get a hold of him and he told me not to bother but gave me his address anyways.

I think a cool thread would be, "what have you done to keep your wife from finding out you just got one more guitar!"

I could sure tell some stories there ...................
