Welcome, Surfdaddy! Which Mosrite guitars are you interested in? There are many kinds and I'd recommend looking at Tym's list of Mosrites he owns to get a better idea. Here's a link, you'll find all sorts here including models from the 70s which are quite interesting like the Bluesbender and Brass Rail models. ;)

1966 Ventures II (German Carved, B670.)
1970s "Not a Blues Bender" Bodies: 2.
1976 Brass Rail Deluxe #10.
2013 Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI.

There's a bunch of us older 1960s surf players, plus some great 'new age' surf players here on the forum. Beware! Mosrite fever is going around lately. ;)

Don't forget us "middle aged punk rock" players!

 thunderhead--hi dude!! straight up now---you do realize that i'm the "that guy" that got thrown off of surfguitar101 TWICE!??  ok, i've seen several other guys from over there on this forum but never had a problem with any of them that i can remember.....i'm a diabetic, a heart patient and a m being treated for depression and anxiety. i am not here to start any mess. i blew it over there and will have to live with it--even though i check 'em out almost everyday. so, before we start any discourse on surf music or guitars--you need to know this. i don't want to go off on anyone and do not plan on it. so, that is who i am---"that guy" :!: :!:

i play a 09 mim strat thru a reverb pedal into 2 fender champ 600's. love those little amps! also have a vox adt15 (whatever) and a roland cube 60. i don't play loud anymore except when the wife is gone. dick dale, the mermen, los straitjackets, the astronauts, the surfaris, daikaiju are some of my favorites and of course, the ventures! also like the yardbirds and the mahavhisnu orchestra. there are others too numerous to mention, but that should give you an idea of what i'm into.

i culled out most of my amps and guitars recently. the roland may be on the block next. i like to keep it minimal, modeling amps drive me nuts after awhile cuz they allow too much tweaking!! my idea of an amp is a class a 50 or so watts and 2 double 15 cabinets. and a reverb tank or pedal. its a digitech--not too bad for 100 clams. volume control and tone control would be about as far as i would go. my guitar hasn't been modded yet--but it will be! and i'm looking for a mosrite clone just to have something besides a fender sound.

so,if your interested holler back and we'll see where this wave takes us :!: 8-)
