1965 brochure

Postby johnnyboy1234 » Thu Nov 19, 2009 3:14 pm

Does anyone have any pictures of the Mosrite brochures from the 1960's. I have the '66 with the Mark V...I would like to see the '65 with the slab body II...and earlier ones. Thanks.

There has been some different brochures posted on the forum but you'd have to dig back through several pages as it's been a while. Here is an early 62-3 era when Semie was building guitars out off Panama Lane here in Bakersfield. This was in the case when I inherited my brothers 64 Ventures model. The double neck is the one I copied in my most recent custom build detailed in the Mosrite Project section.

Maybe Artie will respond. He has a binder full of virtually every Mosrite flyer and brochure.

That'd be a heck of deal.

As far as I know, there was no 1965 catalog. I could be wrong, it's always amazing to see what pops up.

After the 1962-1963 flyer that Danny posted, the next thing I know of is the 1966 dealer brochure, which had one-page flyers for each of the products that could be given away to interested parties. If you look at this topic and scroll down, you'll see the full color page from the 1966 dealer brochure, and right below it, the two-color page from the 1968-1969 catalog.

Well Deke,
Besides the '62-'63 flyer that Danny had posted, I was going to respond with a picture of a '63 flyer "Introducing the Ventures Model" with a blowup of a
VERY Early '63 (possibly the prototype with the Guild Knobs and the Neck P'up which does not lay flush with the angle of the neck at the last fret), but
as always, our 'Search Function' refused every darn thing I tried to feed into it  .....Anyhow, most of you folks know the '63 flyer I am referring to,
with a picture of the Ventures posing w/their Mosrites (in color) photo on the back of the flyer. This was the one I wanted to post, which is after
Danny's '62-''63 flyer, and before the 1966 Catalog (with individual flyer pages/sheets)..........
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

The picture of the Doubleneck from the 62/63 brochure looks like there are 3 knobs and no toggle switch for the pickups?

As for the slab body Ventures II, I've never seen a factory or brochure photo.
