Not so new member

Postby mark1 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 1:51 pm

All this time I guess I forgot about the intro page  Anyway my name is Russ and I live in the far northwest reaches of Massachusetts.I have one 1972 Mosrite and also a Kurokumo clone and a FuzzRite that I got from Andy Mosley. In all I have about twenty or so various make guitars and about the same amount of amps, mostly Fender.I also collect old tape echo machines. And talk about old school,I still listen to reel to reel tapes on my old Sony! Anyway, once I got hooked on Mosrite and found this forum I'm really not to active on any other forum. Oh, and on the side I detail amps and guitars and do setups on guitars as well.If I left anything out please ask...I don't bite....well not very hard ;) Great to be here!!!

Well, Russ, at least you realized your mistake and decided to introduce yourself proper. ;)

So many people have joined the forum without providing a proper email address or else one that they don't check very often and then wonder 'why did I get deleted from the forum?' I have now set the requirements to post an introduction before posting. Those that don't will receive an email directing them to do. If they don't get that email, BAM!

Notice we don't have any spammers on this forum? Proper introduction weeds out the spammers.

BTW, Glad to have you as a participating member. ;)

Welcome back, I still listen to old tapes on my TEAC 3340s, I had a old Sony dual track
but almost gave it away years ago, of course now I wish I had all of my old
equipment back, now that I'm old and have more time to play with those toys.

HI marsman. I have a Sony TC-630 and an Akai-1710 all tube, I think from 65. I listen to the Sony most every day!

Talk about analog fun Mark1, like you and marsman I still have my open reel tape deck too, along with a bunch of tape reels. I hardly use it now but when I first bought it in the early seventies (!) I used it an AWFUL lot...and it still works! Old fashioned point to point wiring etc. but very sophisticated for it's time. It's a four track, 3 speed BRAUN TG 1000 / 4 machine built like a tank and weighs a ton.
I remember having fun with it also taping mono recordings twice in a parallel manner utilising two tracks in such a manner so that a tune sounded stereo and you would get that phase shift effect. It reminded me of the Ventures albums like Guitar Freakout, Super Psychedelics and Flights of Fantasy, heh heh... ;)
