And I should have said earlier - Moseley or Vibramute not as in Brass vs. Aluminum but Brass vs. Whatever metal Semie was making the Vibramute out of in 1964 and 1965, 1963 models are too "out there" for me. And I'm not afraid of modifying my instruments so I could put a different bridge on my future Mosrite guitar if I wanted to so long as the screw holes line up the same way.

But I'm going far off topic, I should start another one...

If you concerned about playability why not get a Hallmark and have a luthier (or Bob Shade) file the frets down to "speed frets"?

I always wanted a Mosrite but between the cost of a vintage and a new one I couldn't justify the cost. Let alone the issue of theft. The Hallmark 60's Custom seemed to be the better option for a gigging guitar.

Yes, I've thought of buying a Hallmark and I may buy a Hallmark II some day. However, For the Mark I situation I would still want a vintage Mo' so I decided to look for a refinished Mark I. But a few days ago I thought, What if a Brass Rail pops up on eBay and I want to buy it? It looks like I'm going to be putting off buying a Mosrite for another month if not more unless there is a ridiculous deal on one. I don't want to miss out on a Brass Rail if I have the chance. (I want to build them!)

Hey Austin, did you ever pull the trigger on the vintage Mo?

I have to say that after several months of owning my 71 MK 1 I'm very pleased with it's sound, playablity and I love the looks of the sunburst neck and headstock.

No, I haven't bought one yet. I'm still holding out to buy a Brass Rail (Yeah, I've been waiting to buy one for a while now)
