Hey, apossibleworld--

Do you know how Hank Thompson's name is applied to the pickguard? Looks great; I love the way the finish is crazed like that.

I'm glad that Bob mentioned his sparkleburst and its amazing history. He was nice enough to let me hold it one day and I was frankly astonished. It made me feel really lucky to have one of his H60C sparklebursts, I can tell you that!

I wanted to mention that guitar, but it is Bob's, and I didn't feel it was my place to brag on his treasure!

Anyone who does not have a way back machine and digs this finish may want to check out one of our new 60 Customs. 65 Comes alive!
When I saw the picture I immediately said to myself: "hey, that's a Hallmark 60 Custom"...until I saw the decal!! :o go figure...wowzers. :geek:
Back to the Hank Thomson guitar: that is a really good close-up picture showing the sparkle burst...with the added unintentional cracking lines sparkle in the finish! (crackingly good! :D ). What an appropriate gift for someone at Christmas time...

Thanks for posting Nate ;)

If it is the same serial number (identical in sequence) but stamped twice, it could be what printers call a "kiss print". Maybe the person who did the stamping was still a bit new to this and perhaps he/she was attempting to improve on his/her first attempt. Or otherwise he/she was used to stamping double necks all the time...

Nope they're not the same number, but a little hard to make out. One is D334, and the other looks like D256. Or is that an 8?

Hey Deke, sorry you did not get the guitar, it has DD as the preceeding serial letters. That would have made it more special. Well hold out for Dick Dales Mosrite I suppose huh?

JimPage ... In times past, I have taken pickguards to trophy engraving places and for a nominal fee, they would engrave whatever script I wanted into my pickguard. Just an option for you ..

Hey, Dennis--

That's a good idea! I do graphics for a living, so I was thinking of something way more technical and convoluted, of course.

Thanks--
