Hello all!
My name is Lloyd. I'm very glad I found this forum and it is n honor to follow Andy Moseley.
Back in the late 70's I went to UGA in Athens, GA. I was a big fan of surf rock (still am). Back then we used to go to dance parties and inevitably one would run into many of musicians from that scene, including guitarists like Pete Buck (REM), Randy Bewley (Pylon), Marc Cline and Mike Richmond (Love Tractor) and Ricky Wilson (B52s) and other great bands. Ricky Wilson, especially, had an exciting and driving technique. I was hooked.
The first Mosrite I acquired was from a Pawnshop in Marietta, GA. I bought it in 1977 for $200. My mom helped me buy it and thought I was crazy to want this this old guitar so much. I knew it was special ... a 12 string Sunburst, serial number T613.
It's missing an original p/u. When I bought it, someone had stuck a cheap looking humbucker on there. Switch is missing too. Of course I would love to restore this with original items. If you know of any that can match theses items to this guitar, I would greatly appreciate your input. I have also tried to research this guitar's year and the best I can come up with is sometime after the Venture license expired, so my guess is sometimes in the late 60's.

Hi Lloyd,
Enjoyed reading your intro. Welcome to the Mosrite Forum!
You mentioned the first Mosrite, your 12 string, and this implies there have been more? Do tell.
Just for my curiousity, what area of NY are you from?
Anyway, hope the parts become available to you.

Welcome to the forum! Is your 12 string a vibrato or non-vibrato model? I think you'll find the resources here to restore your guitar.

Welcome to the Mosrite Forum, Lloyd. My first real exposure to Mosrite was also because of Ricky Wilson. I listened to The B-52's a lot and one day I went to Wikipedia to find out what kind of guitar Ricky played, Now here I am wanting to buy a Brass Rail model. I hope to find a good working one next year.
