Here's a pair of the Black/White heads on Bob Regan's that is thought to have been remodeled some time around 63-64ish. I've posted this before.
Also, if I recall correctly, Doug Brewer had those type headcaps on his custom doubleneck originally but excess heat caused them to peel and
they were replaced with what you now see on his guitar.

It looks like the pickups have screws between the E and A and B and E poles. Maybe these are Carvin AP-6 pickups in different covers?
Also, isn't the angled fretboard end a later feature? The early Joe Maphis models had a squared end on the fretboard.

Good call, Mel and Terry,
Man nothing slips by the students here at the Mosrite University. Yeah, all the appointment sure dates this as a later than stated model. Everyday's a new learning experience. I don't think anyone has all the answers.

All I can say is Amen. I felt years ago there were never enough made to really establish a long term trend. It was onesy twosy. I agree on the Carvin's are more than likely. Semie built me a bunch of guitars over a number of years. I have Straight across cut on the neck fretboard with binding and without. Also some were Angle Cut on the fretboard with and without binding. And this was in the Seventies and Eighties. Semie did what struck
him at the time. Terry and Mel and Bob, the guys are right. That Bob Regan guitar I found
with those head stocks, mirror the one in the picture. Semie went back and used something
he had used before. Remember the headstocks on Larry Collins Guitar after Semie gave
him the one right after the 6 on a side original. Straight cut across headstock and white border headstock trim. Dates are tuff and likely to be for awhile longer.
Oh by the way those are not goof plates around the pickups. The Black covers are
setting on top of White plates. They are part of the trim out. I am again working on one that has that same riser effect.

Good of you to post this Elaine! This Forum is getting richer in many ways, all the time

I agree with Danny on the date issue but having said that, I guess many Mosrite mysteries will remain.dubtrub wrote:Yeah, all the appointment sure dates this as a later than stated model. I don't think anyone has all the answers.

EF, I'm sure the forum would love to see some pictures! I know I would.
