I don't know if there was anything special about the pickups that he took out of the body, but so far it looks like he might lose his shirt on the resale.

E-Bay can work for you, and again it can work against you.

I think I'll call this one, "Mosrite Sunburst at Sunset". We haven't had sunshine lately so the photo opportunities have been slim. We thought we try a few shots at the beach today with my Celebrity. I'm trying to come up with a cool photo to be used on a poster for an upcoming gig. Anyway, I know how "guitar porn" staved ya'll can be so I thought I'd share this one.

Hey, Sarah!

Both are good, but I think #2 is a little more dramatic.

That Mosrite Celeb really fits you well Sarah! Even with the lack of sunshine, at least you'll always have some Sunburst... ;)

Thank you! I'm kinda leaning toward #2 as well. If we have sunshine this weekend I might try some other ideas as well.

Hi--

Here is my first attempt to upload photos. These are of the 1972 Mosrite Celebrity III I recently purchased from Dennisthe Menace. THANKS again to Dennis for letting me have this fine guitar.

Thanks also to Bob Shade, who had a pickup that matched the bottom one original to the guitar. When I got the guitar from Dennis, the top pickup was one that was smooth, without the Mosrite logo on it. So Bob was kind enough to swap it out for me, and to add the white paint on the pickup's logo, as had been done on the bottom pickup.

I love this guitar and it plays so easily, especially after Bob tweaked the action on it.

Please note the black pickguards. Dennis, before shipping me the guitar, mentioned that the pickguards had been replaced with custom ones, and that he thought that I might like the replacements more than the originals, which he still had. He was right!

I feel that the black pickguards go better with the beautiful sunburst, and also I love the shape of the top pickguard. Bob did, too!!!

I wonder who made these, as they are made exactly like Mosrite ones, including the edge bevel, and the top one sure has a Mark I aspect to it to my eye.

The case is original to the guitar and is very light and handy.

Take care--

Really nice, Jim! How deep is the body on that?

Thanks, Sarah!

I didn't have a rocky beach at sunset background for my photos, as you did, but they were best taken inside as cold as it is here today! And, I'm not nearly as photogenic as you are, so I ain't in the photos,

The serial number on this guitar is C30148, for those who keep track of such stuff.

Bob Shade, who has forgotten more about Mosrites than I will ever know, says that there were three modifications to this guitar that he could spot:
1. As already noted, the pickguards;
2. The top pickup, which he felt had been swapped long ago, and, as noted, he replaced
for me; and
3. The switch tip or knob had been lowered by shaving the bottom portion of it, which
actually looks quite nifty.

I usually immediately swap the strap buttons for StrapLoks when I get a guitar, but the buttons on this are so pretty, and the strap I have for it fits so tightly, that I am leaving the originals on it. I'll just be cautious about the strap falling off.

One thing I love about this guitar is on the headstock. If you look carefully at the photo of the headstock front, on the right top side, there is a slight run or drip in the varnish. I thought that was cool and it makes it seem more a product of Semie's hands somehow.

Semie, by the way, was 37 when this left his shop, which, I guess, was in Bakersfield at that time. There is no label inside the F-holes, by the way.

Handbrake asks about the body depth. It measures 1-3/4", Reber.
