Yes, I could not believe it myself but yesterday afternoon there was a Mosrite Ventures Mark 1 from 65-66 hanging in the Cherry Hill Sam Ash and they are asking about $2,300 (IIRC). Its a sunburst with the smaller "The Ventures" logo, the tuners have been replaced with Schallers (IIRC), the wiggle arm has been bent into a fishhook, and the volume knob has been replaced with a tele-type knob. Anything that might have been changed under the hood is unknown. The guitar actually was set up very well. The neck was really slim and has the "speed frets". Do not know if it came with a case.
I don't have the disposable income but you might. They really do not know that much about it, they admitted to guessing on the year. So head over too Cherry Hill and you may get yourself a guitar.
