Well, I am new to this forum.....just found out about it, in fact. I am in New Mexico, and have been a Ventures fan since 1964. In addition to their music, I have always been very interested in the Mosrite guitar, its design, origins, and history. I think its overall design is a work of art.

My primary interest at this point is in the guitar and the construction of a close imitation. I've been collecting information for some time, but still haven't reached the point that I feel confident enough to start construction. I am slowly trying to accumulate parts, mostly re-manufactured or similar to the originals, but open to those too, if I can afford them.

This forum seems to be a good place to accumulate more information on the guitar, as well as Semie Mosely, apparently even from a few who actually knew him.

At this point, I have little to contribute, but as I get acquainted with the forum, that may change...

Welcome to the forum, Scarecrow! I have been impressed at how many members have built their own guitars....my son was in a luthier class his senior year in high school, and built his own acoustic guitar....but this is the exact place to be if you plan to do it........lots of threads, suggestions, comments, photos to keep you busy!
