Tremolo

Hay!, Does any one out their in the forum know the shaft diameter on tremolo's? The reason I ask is I found a couple of bearings that might work real nice.

Hi MWaldorf, I gues I'm a little over sized that won't due, I'll just keep looking. We had a store at one time that carried nothing but bearings of all kinds, but since everything went to heck in the auto industry hear, they've since closed the branch store.

That's unfortunate, but at least you can buy the right bearings online for about $10 a pop.

Hay MWaldorf, how's it goin? Don't want you guys to think that I'm a cheep a.., But I've got some bearings that are very close to the corect size, but their high speed bearings was think of taking two and inserting them in a 1/4" deep pocket with a throuhg hole for the 3/16" pivot rod to locket down. Kind of like a mosrite. What do ya think????

Mel had a good idea he used on his Partsrite, that I liked so well I used on mine, also. Cut 2 - 3/16" all thread for the pivot rods, with a groove in the end for a screwdriver slot, then thread the rocker where the pin goes on each side , and you have a rod you can put in and take off without having to use a hammer and punch. If you pm me with your address, I might have a couple of Torrington B36 needle bearings ...

Hay Dennis, I really appreciate the offer, but the parts are already boared and punched for the high speed ball bearings. If this should fail and I fall flat on my a.., I'll take you up on the offer. The id is 3/16". Yeah, I liked his idea to so I coppied him also. The only differense in mine is that I put a smoth shaft through th bearing. I would be afraid of the threded rod prematurely wearing out rolling on those hard rollers and metal shavings jaming up the smoh acton on the tremolo

I have another question for some out their, how wide is the bridge, I have one demention of 3/4". Is that inside of the chanel, or outside? and what is it made from, steel or aluminum chanel?
