Beautiful collection of guitars Dennis! Thank you for sharing. I especially like the blue one.

101Volts wrote:Nice lot of guitars. Is the "Ramones" Model a MIJ guitar? I think normally I'd say something about the 65 Mark II but I've been looking at lots of Les Paul Junior models lately.

I've been in touch with Dennis since I bought a guitar from him a while back and nope, not MIJ, that's an original that he restored. As a matter of fact you can blame Dennis for my presence here.

The blonde Ramones model was hand built in 1990 in jonas Ridge. I talked to Johnny at the Cannery in Nashville in the early fall of 1990-and he showed me the white one that semie gave him-was used in the merry christmas video- and when I came back to Knoxville I contacted Semie and ask him to build one for me. Paid 1265.00 for it which seemed like alot of money back then! Went to pick it up in person and got to tour the factory-same as on the video just posted on the forum-and lunch with semie and loretta. I had found Ventures serial 0906 locally in and left it for him to refinish as I found it stripped. The red ventures II had been badly refined and headstock logo was scratched partially off-but for 1500.00 I wasn't about to argue. I sent it to bob shade at hallmark to restore it-the good news is that the electronics were all original and the neck plays really good! Hard to find one of those in any condition! So even though the body and headstock have been refined it is still a cool guitar!

Man oh man that red mk ii is so freakin nice!! im still debating a hallmark sheena or a mosrite so i can get it in red..... then again i imagine getting a hallmark with a custom finish would be less than a fillmore mosrite anyways plus i hear hallmark'll soo be offering a vintage correct vibrato to boot
